Maintenance
We believe that regular maintenance and monitoring is important for the success of an urban garden. We make maintenance schedule recommendations to clients. However, we allow the client to decide whether they want us to make weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or yearly visits. All tasks are done without the use of unnecessary power tools. Our maintenance services include the following:
- hand weeding.
- selective pruning.
- deadheading.
- mulch application.
- application of natural organic fertilizers as needed.
- inspection of plants for pest and disease problems.
- treatment of pest and disease problems using least toxic methods (biological controls, traps, dormant oil, blasts of water, neem oil, etc.).
- staking plant material.
- training plant material.
- edging beds.
- transplanting.
- dividing.
- sweeping of pathways.
